Questionaire

1. What’s your major? What year will you graduate?

My major is Liberal Studies with a concentration in Art and a minor in Photography. I graduate this year.

2. Why did you choose a photography class (or photography as a major), and what do you hope to learn from school in general and this class specifically?

I choose photography as a minor, because art and photography are similar in many  different aspects. I believe that I can use photography to help me succeed in the art world.
3. What are your goals after graduation? Please list your goals in reverse order, starting five years out, then three, two, one, and six months.

Five years from now I plan to be successful in my career path. Three years from now I plan to  buy a house. Two years from now I plan to buy my dream car. One year from now I to graduate college. Six months from now I hope to continue my hard efforts in school and art.
4. What artists, musicians, photographers, writers, movies, books have influenced you/your work?
I mainly like to focus on beginning artist. Beginning artist have an inside look on what you can do to help your career.

5. Are there any important websites that you are referencing for art/photo competitions and/or information?

6. What museums and/or galleries have you been to in the past year?

The African America Museum and the gallery at Texas A&M Commerce University.
7. Have you had any photo projects and/ or training in the past?

I do not have any formal training pertaining to photography.
8. What is the value of art for the artist?

It depends on the artist themselves. As far as myself I have an emotional attachment to all of my artwork. At first it was difficult to even sell my art, until I decided I rather my art be admired by a buyer than just collect dust on my wall or stay in storage.
9. What is the value of art for the audience?

Also I believe this is something that depends on the viewer. I know that when I view a art piece that I find visually interesting I value the meaning, the color pallet, and the image as a whole.
10. Is photography a vocation or an avocation?

For myself I could see me using photography in both ways.
11. What is your passion?

My passion in life besides family would have to be art in any form.

12.What are you afraid of? What makes you uncomfortable?

I'm afraid of failing. Something that makes me uncomfortable is someone that enters my personal space without permission.
13. Do you have a passport? Are you a traveler?

I do not have a passport at this time. I do plan on getting one soon. I have traveled to several state, but I have plenty of other places I would love to venture.
14. Who is your favorite artist? And why?

I don't have a particular favorite artist. I find interest in a variety of artist.

15. Why did you sign up for this class? What do you hope to learn from it?

I took this class to learn more about photography. I hope to learn how to make photography visually interesting to others.
